What is HYP-20?
HYP-20 is a token standard for HyperLiquid's EVM layer (HyperEVM). Inspired by BRC-20 and Ethscriptions, tokens are created by embedding JSON inscription data as calldata in on-chain transactions.
How does inscribing work?
Each operation sends a transaction to your own address with 0 HYPE value. The calldata contains the inscription JSON. Format:

What wallet do I need?
Any EVM wallet works — MetaMask, Rabby, Coinbase Wallet, etc. You need HyperEVM (Chain ID 999). The app will prompt you to add and switch automatically.
What does DEPLOY do?
Creates a new HYP-20 token with your chosen ticker, max total supply, and per-mint limit. Once deployed, anyone can mint within the limits until supply is exhausted.
What does MINT do?
Mints tokens for an already-deployed ticker to your wallet. Amount must not exceed the per-mint limit. First-come-first-served until max supply.
What does TRANSFER do?
Transfers HYP-20 tokens from your address to a recipient. Indexers validate sender balance before crediting recipient.
How much does it cost?
Only HyperEVM gas in HYPE — typically a fraction of a cent. No protocol fee.
